Before we start, let’s make one thing clear: this list is not exhaustive, and it’s based on the author’s personal preferences. Here are eight single-player games that you definitely don’t want to miss.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is an action-adventure game released in 2019. It has won numerous awards, including the 2019 Game of the Year Award at The Game Awards.

Sekiro Shadows Die Twice

The game is available on all platforms. In Sekiro, you play as a shinobi named Wolf who is on a quest to rescue his young lord. The game’s combat system is challenging, but it’s also gratifying. You’ll need to master parrying and dodging to defeat your enemies. The game also has multiple endings, so there’s plenty of replay value. The only downside is that the game can be frustratingly difficult at times.

Bloodborne is an action role-playing game developed by FromSoftware, the same studio that created Sekiro. The game is exclusive to the PlayStation 4.

In Bloodborne, you play as a hunter exploring the city of Yharnam, a place plagued by a mysterious illness. The game’s combat system is fast-paced and intense, and the game’s bosses are some of the most challenging you’ll ever face. The game also has a unique multiplayer system that lets you leave messages for other players and join other players’ games. The game’s only downside is that it can be challenging and not for the faint of heart.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt won the 2015 TGA Best Game of the Year and the 2016 TGA Best RPG Game of the Year, highlighting its status among gamers.

The game tells the adventure story between Geralt of Rivia, the white wolf, and Ciri, the child of destiny, and is a classic role-play game. The Witcher 3 has a grand and deep plot, an excellent and easy-to-use system, and is not monotonous. The game’s tasks are diverse, engaging, and thought-provoking, the characters are well-rounded, and the game map is vast, solid, and informative. It deserves all the praise and is highly recommended as an outstanding achievement.

Grand Theft Auto V

The famous GTA V, initially released in 2013, still appears on the Steam sales chart.

From today’s perspective, this game is still cutting-edge. It is a story about three characters from different racial backgrounds playing the roles of criminals who commit arson, murder, and robbery. Playing games is about experiencing life and emotions that cannot be experienced in reality. Money, violence, and brotherhood intertwine in this vibrant city, bringing us a shocking gaming experience.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

The storyline of The Legend of Zelda is a cliché hero defeating evil and saving the princess story. Still, many gamers consider it a masterpiece mainly because of its excellent gameplay. The game offers over a hundred temple puzzles, nearly a thousand collectibles, and an open world without restrictions. The game has a realistic physics system, cartoonish graphics but not childish, and combat that is easy to pick up but also has depth. The repetitive nature of late-stage open-world games is entirely absent in this game, making it full of surprises from start to finish. Without exaggeration, The Legend of Zelda has defined a new standard for open-world games. It is suitable for players who enjoy exploration and decoding puzzles.
